Website colors and fonts

What colors do we want?

Black BG, light text
This seems to be most often used for games-related websites. It highlights high contrast images and text, as is often found within games.

White BG, dark text
This is most often used on information websites. It is focused more on featuring text and less on images. It is a sober design that lends itself less well to having lots of images.

Grey/dark color BG, light & dark text
This seems to be often used for websites someone will spend a lot of time on, like forums and such.

What fonts do we want?

- Sans-serif: Most commonly used font type for websites, especially Arial-like.
- Serif: I think those works good in Large Bold Letters for Titles and such, but tends to get harder to read in smaller print.
- Monospace: Most familiar to programmers, but makes reading plain English a little more difficult though, due to its typewriter-like spacing. Some like Courier don't alias very well in smaller print.
- Creative fonts: Cliché, a reminder of the internet of the 90s when many beginners wrote hobby pages in plain HTML.

With keeping in mind that different types of fonts can be used for different material, like Sans-serif for regular text and Serif for quotes.

I'm not going to speak to Cardshifter project's website colors/style, however I am going to speak specifically to Cyborg Chronicles (the mod). I feel the background should be black, with normal text light grey. We would need a color that stands out for links and highlights, and I'm thinking red as well as neon-like colors would work. Accents in dark blue, purple and grey would be able to provide some alternate backgrounds used for paragraphs, image backgrounds, tables, menus, etc.

I also think the general text as well as quote blocks should be Sans-serif, that the menu text should be a tidy looking mono-space font like Consolas or such. The quotes from in-game characters in the story I think should be monospace as well, or at least different than the plain text. I think a futuristic-looking Creative font may be good for Headers/Titles.
